Natural Blue Amber From Indonesia 45.5ct Polished

A generous, rounded polished oval measuring 36x25x15mm. In ambient light it presents as a deep reddish-brown amber with a natural scattering of darker spots and some organic cloudy areas distributed through the body - entirely characteristic of Indonesian amber. Under UV or in sunlight the piece blazes a full vivid sky-blue across its surface, with the natural inclusions creating a wonderful atmospheric depth within the fluorescent glow, like looking through a window into an electric blue world.

One of the larger pieces in this Indonesian blue amber series. Sourced from Sumatra, the blue fluorescence is caused by ancient polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the resin and is completely natural and untreated. An impressive specimen for display or photography; the generous size makes the blue effect particularly striking when the piece is held up to sunlight.
