Grandidierite 3.79ct Cushion cut

A natural grandidierite in a 3.79ct cushion cut, 11.1x8.5mm, from Madagascar. The stone shows a dark, complex teal-green body colour with significant yellowish-olive matrix patches distributed across the crown and body. Dark crystal inclusions are visible within. The colour is deeper and more saturated than the lighter pieces in this series, as documented in the product photos.

Grandidierite from Madagascar is one of the gem world's rarest faceted species. This 3.79ct example has a particularly complex, deep colour with strong matrix character. The inclusions and matrix are typical of the species at this quality level. Untreated and natural.
