Labradorite 161ct oval cabochon

The largest of the oval cabochons at 161ct and 55.2 x 45mm, this piece shows a broad blue labradorescence spread across the full face, with a particularly bright, near-white flash concentrated at the centre-right that intensifies the visual impact of the display. The surrounding blue extends from edge to edge and reads as a medium-toned, slightly cool blue. Fine black matrix lines cross the surface, and scattered black mineral inclusions are visible, consistent with typical labradorite from this source region. The dome is well-formed with good polish.

At this size, labradorite cabochons are commonly used as centrepieces for large statement pendants or as focal elements in silversmith work. The bright central flash in this piece creates a natural focal point within the stone, which can be exploited in setting design by centering the bezel around it. Entirely untreated; the display is a structural optical phenomenon of the feldspar itself.
