Natural Prehnite 41.3ct Oval Cabochon

A large oval with a distinctly two-zone character: the left half carries a heavy concentration of dark epidote masses and needle inclusions that shade that area considerably, while the right half is noticeably cleaner and paler, showing the base prehnite color more openly. The contrast between the two zones gives this piece a visually asymmetric quality that sets it apart from more evenly patterned cabochons.

The marked contrast between heavy and light inclusion zones is a natural feature of African prehnite, where epidote can occur in concentrated pockets within the same crystal mass. Prehnite is always untreated. At 32.7x20mm this oval suits pendant and earring settings where its two-tone internal character can be appreciated.
