Purple labradorite heart 23g 33mm

A complex, multi-zone labradorescence display animates this 33mm heart palmstone: blue-purple tones settle in the upper quadrant, a vivid pink-magenta zone occupies the right centre, and warm orange-gold tones emerge from the lower left, creating a three-colour arrangement that shifts and reorganises as the angle changes. The overlapping nature of the zones means that different colours come forward depending on the light direction. Fine cleavage planes are visible across the charcoal-grey body, and scattered dark minerals are present throughout.

The multi-zone colour layering in this piece results from variations in the thickness of the internal feldspar lamellae, with each zone refracting a slightly different wavelength. This natural structural feature is what makes labradorite schiller complex and variable from piece to piece. Entirely untreated, this palmstone is a good representation of the multicolor range that Malagasy labradorite can produce.
