Red apatite from Pakistan fluorescent 13.8g

A bold natural red apatite crystal from Pakistan, this rough specimen has a deep, rich wine-red to burgundy color with a semi-transparent body and natural unpolished crystal faces. Photographed in daylight, the color is a deep raspberry-red with brownish-red tones that deepen toward the base. The second photo shows the stone under 310nm ultraviolet light, where it transforms dramatically, glowing a vivid, brilliant yellow-orange that completely changes its character. This dual-personality fluorescence makes it one of the more exciting specimens in any mineral collection. The third angle shows the size and form clearly, giving a full picture of this substantial 13.8g piece.

Untreated and from Pakistan, this fluorescent red apatite is an excellent addition for any collector interested in minerals with UV properties. Apatite is well known for fluorescence but red specimens with this intensity of UV response are less commonly seen.
