Natural Star Ruby 2.55ct 6-ray Star Oval Cabochon

A natural Indian star ruby oval cabochon measuring 7.1x6.8mm and weighing 2.55 carats, with a warm purple-red to magenta body color and a well-defined 6-ray star pattern across its high-domed surface. The dense rutile silk needle inclusions that produce the asterism are clearly visible under direct light, creating a richly textured appearance on the dome. Dark mineral inclusions scattered through the opaque body are typical of untreated Indian star corundum, contributing to its natural, unenhanced character.

Star rubies from India are valued for their vivid body color and the pronounced silk inclusions that generate strong asterism. This stone is completely untreated - no heat or other enhancement - which is significant for star rubies, as most commercial material receives heat treatment that can reduce or eliminate the star effect.
