Yellow Cat's Eye Diaspore 4.36ct Oval Cabochon

A 4.36ct oval cabochon of natural cat's eye diaspore from Turkey, measuring 11x9.5mm. The stone has a pale honey-yellow body colour with a silky, slightly milky texture. Dark needle-like inclusions are visible within the dome, typical of the diaspore species. A soft chatoyant band moves across the curved surface under directional light, producing the characteristic cat's eye effect. Both daylight and incandescent conditions are documented in the product photos.

Diaspore from Turkey is the sole commercial source of natural chatoyant diaspore. This is an unusual combination - a mineral that can show a colour-change tendency and, in this example, also displays chatoyancy. Suited to a pendant or ring setting where the phenomenon can be appreciated in moving light. Untreated, no heat or enhancement.
