Five rough ruby crystals in pinkish-purple to rose-pink tones, each piece semi-transparent with the ruby color visible through the unpolished surface. The size range varies slightly more within this lot - from compact 3mm pieces to larger 7mm fragments - giving a natural variety of shapes and proportions. Raw crystalline texture covers each stone, and the color holds well even across the smaller pieces in the group.

Madagascar accounts for the majority of the world's commercial ruby supply, and these crystals come directly from the island's ruby-bearing regions as raw, untreated rough. No heat or other enhancement has been applied, preserving the stones exactly as extracted from the deposit. Semi-transparent rough rubies in this size range are popular for wire-wrap jewellery, raw gemstone collections, mineral specimen display, and crystal-form jewellery design. Strong natural fluorescence under UV light is also characteristic of Malagasy ruby corundum.
