About tiger’s eye
Tiger’s eye is quartz with a fibrous structure that gives it a moving band of light. At 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale it is tough and durable.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Put it on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, which leave a film that dulls the stone, and take it off for sport, cleaning or heavy work, when it is most likely to be knocked or to meet household chemicals. Tiger’s eye is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

These stones are untreated. Tiger’s eye should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath.
