A natural ametrine from Bolivia with crisp, eye-catching bi-color zoning across its 15x11.9mm fancy step cut body. The violet-purple zone on one half flows seamlessly into warm amber-orange on the other, creating a striking two-tone display that only this rare quartz variety can offer. VVS clarity means the stone is essentially clean to the naked eye, with superb transparency and depth throughout.
Ametrine forms exclusively in the Anahi mine in Bolivia, where particular geological conditions produce natural crystals that are part amethyst, part citrine. This 5.49ct stone is entirely untreated, its color zoning entirely the work of nature. At over 5 carats and 15mm long it is a statement collector's piece, ideal as the centerpiece of a bespoke ring or a large pendant.

About ametrine
Ametrine is quartz with purple and yellow to orange color zones in the same crystal. At 7 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a durable stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted ametrine, but skip steam: sudden heat can crack quartz or change its color.
Wear and storage
Ametrine is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This ametrine is untreated. Ametrine takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
