This elegant marquise-cut blue sapphire from Sri Lanka showcases a soft, pale cornflower-blue tone that is beautifully transparent and bright. The VS clarity means the stone is clean to the eye across the well-proportioned 8x4mm outline. Under UV light the stone shows a vivid teal-green fluorescence, giving it a distinct second character.
Sourced from the gem fields of Sri Lanka, a long-established sapphire origin. The stone has received standard heat treatment to enhance its color and transparency, a widely accepted practice. At 0.63ct with VS clarity and that striking marquise shape, this is a wonderful choice for a custom pendant, cocktail ring, or a signature piece in yellow or white gold.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
