This 3.5mm round-cut blue sapphire from Madagascar displays a deep, richly saturated navy-blue color with impressively bold, reflective facets that give it a dramatic presence well beyond its petite size. The depth of color is striking, and the well-cut round shape maximizes the stone's luminous quality. The SI clarity reflects the authentic natural inclusions typical of sapphires from Madagascar's prolific gem fields.
Madagascar is celebrated for producing blue sapphires with some of the deepest, most saturated color available in the market today. This stone has received standard heat treatment to bring out its full blue potential. At 0.23ct and 3.5mm, it makes a compelling choice for a small solitaire ring, a pendant accent, or as part of a carefully assembled sapphire collection.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
