Deep and densely colored, this 3.4mm round-cut blue sapphire from Africa presents a dark, inky navy tone with a bold, heavily saturated character. The SI clarity reveals the natural inclusions embedded in this gem, giving it a genuinely organic quality that speaks to its natural origin. The round cut is clean and well-executed, bringing out the stone's intense, commanding color.
Sourced from Africa, home to some of the world's richest sapphire mining regions producing stones with deep, bold blue tones. Heat treatment has been applied to enhance the stone's color, as is standard for African sapphires of this type. At 0.24ct and 3.4mm, this is an ideal accent stone for fine jewelry, a ring center in a minimalist setting, or a solid pick for any natural sapphire collection.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
