This 3.4mm round-cut blue sapphire from Africa presents a very deep, near-inky navy tone with a bold, saturated darkness that gives it a striking, dramatic character. The SI clarity reveals the natural inclusions embedded throughout, a genuine hallmark of this earth-grown corundum. The round cut frames the stone's intense color with clean, well-proportioned faceting that lets the depth of blue speak for itself.
African sapphires are known for their deep, richly saturated blues, and this stone is a fine example of that bold intensity. Heat treatment has been applied to enhance its dark blue tone, as is standard for African sapphires. At 0.26ct and 3.4mm, this piece works well as a deep-colored accent in fine jewelry, or for collectors who appreciate the dramatic character of naturally dark sapphires.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
