This 3.6mm round-cut blue sapphire from Africa shows a medium, open blue tone with lighter patches across the facets, giving it a softer, more airy look than the deeply saturated stones typical of this origin. The large, well-cut facets catch light beautifully and display the stone's natural blue hue in a gentle, appealing way. The SI clarity reflects the natural inclusions present in this earth-grown gem.
Sourced from Africa, this stone showcases the breadth of color that African sapphire fields can produce, from intense darks to lighter, subtler blues like this one. Standard heat treatment has been applied to enhance its color. At 0.26ct and 3.6mm, it is a lovely choice for delicate jewelry settings where a softer blue tone is desired, such as light gold settings or minimalist pendants.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
