This 4.4x3.3mm oval blue sapphire from Madagascar presents a beautiful, pale ice-blue color that is light, airy, and subtly luminous. The stone is highly transparent with a bright, open appearance, and the classic oval outline adds an elegant shape to its soft blue personality. Natural inclusions at SI clarity are visible under magnification but do not interrupt the gem's clean, delicate presentation.
Madagascar's sapphire fields produce stones across a wonderfully wide range of tones, from deep navy to the ethereal pale blues like this one. Heat treatment has been applied to enhance the stone's delicate color. At 0.31ct and 4.4x3.3mm, this pale blue oval is a beautiful choice for a romantic pendant, a vintage-inspired ring setting, or any design where its soft, ice-blue quality can truly shine.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
