A classic deep blue oval sapphire with strong, velvety saturation and a rich navy tone that deepens toward the center of the stone. The facets catch and scatter the light into cool blue flashes at the edges while the interior maintains the signature depth and silky quality of a naturally heated blue sapphire. SI clarity, with fine natural inclusions giving the stone a pleasing organic character without diminishing its bold, saturated color presence.
Heated to enhance the natural blue tone, as is standard practice across the sapphire trade worldwide. Deep blue sapphires remain the most classic and enduring choice in colored gemstone jewelry, carrying centuries of association with royalty, loyalty, and clarity. This 4.7x3.6mm oval is a well-proportioned setting stone for a bezel ring, a solitaire pendant, or a pair of stud earrings, and its dark saturation holds strongly under both natural and artificial light, making it a reliable and striking choice for everyday pieces.
Natural blue sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
