A deep navy blue oval sapphire with rich, velvety saturation and flashes of lighter blue catching at the facet edges. The color is dark and intense, with a silky interior quality that comes from fine natural inclusions scattering the light softly across the stone. SI clarity places it in the characterful range, where the inclusions contribute to the sapphire's depth rather than diminishing it.
Heated to enhance its deep blue tone, as is standard practice for the vast majority of commercial sapphires worldwide. This classic deep blue is one of the most sought-after looks in sapphire jewelry, lending itself to timeless bezel rings, stud earrings, and pendant settings where the dark, royal blue can be fully appreciated up close. At 0.41ct in an oval 4.7x3.6mm format, it is a practical, well-proportioned stone for setting in both silver and yellow or white gold.
Natural blue sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
