This 5.1x3.9mm oval blue sapphire from Madagascar displays a deep navy-blue color with dark extinction zones and vivid cobalt-blue flashes breaking through when the stone is tilted in light. The contrast between the stone's dark body and the bright blue highlights gives it a dramatic, eye-catching quality that makes a bold impression for its size. Natural inclusions at SI clarity are part of its authentic, earth-formed character.
For collectors and jewelry designers who love intensely colored sapphires, this Madagascar oval delivers the depth and drama of a truly saturated gem. Standard heat treatment has been applied to enhance its color. At 0.56ct and 5.1x3.9mm, this oval sapphire makes a striking center stone for a ring, a bold pendant, or a memorable statement piece in fine jewelry.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
