This 4.8mm round-cut blue sapphire from Madagascar is a completely untreated stone of extraordinary transparency and brilliance. The color is a delicate, near-colorless pale blue with hints of icy silver, giving it a diamond-like brightness that is truly captivating. The bright light return across the well-cut round facets gives the stone a luminous look at this size. Natural inclusions at SI clarity speak to its genuine geological origin and untreated status.
Completely unheated natural sapphires of this transparency are remarkably rare, and this pale blue Madagascar stone is a genuinely special find. Its color is the product of geological conditions alone, without any enhancement, a hallmark of authenticity prized by collectors worldwide. At 0.57ct and 4.8mm, this near-colorless pale blue untreated round is an ideal choice for those seeking a rare, transparent natural sapphire for a special ring, pendant, or collector's acquisition.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
