This 5.2x4.5mm oval blue sapphire from Madagascar is a beautifully transparent untreated stone with a delicate pale blue color touched by subtle silvery tones and gentle warmth, the hallmarks of a genuine unheated sapphire. The bright light return across the well-cut oval facets creates a sparkling, luminous quality that showcases the stone's natural clarity and transparency. Natural inclusions at SI clarity are part of its authentic geological character.
Unheated sapphires from Madagascar are increasingly rare and highly valued by collectors and gem enthusiasts. This stone's delicate, naturally pale color is the result of geological conditions alone, without any heat enhancement, making it a genuine rarity in the market. At 0.57ct and 5.2x4.5mm, this untreated pale blue oval is a beautiful choice for a natural sapphire pendant, an engagement ring, or a discerning collector who prioritizes authenticity above all.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
