This 0.92ct untreated oval sapphire from Australia presents in a medium blue-grey tone with a gentle, diffused quality that reflects the signature character of Australian sapphires. Visible natural inclusions lend the stone an organic transparency, and subtle milky veils within the body add depth and a distinctly characterful personality that speaks to its entirely natural, unenhanced state.
Australian sapphires are recognized for their distinctive muted blue and grey-blue hues, shaped by the particular geological conditions of the continent's gem fields. This stone is completely untreated and unheated, making it a genuine natural specimen with full provenance. It lends itself beautifully to silver and white gold settings that complement its cool, understated palette, and is an excellent choice for collectors who appreciate the rarity and authenticity of natural Australian sapphires.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
