This 0.98ct heated pear-cut sapphire from Thailand presents in an intensely deep, near-extinction navy blue that reads almost black under subdued lighting, revealing its rich blue depth only when direct light catches the facets at the right angle. The dark, saturated tone is highly characteristic of Thai sapphires, and the elegant teardrop silhouette adds a classic, elongated grace to its commanding presence.
Thailand has been a world-renowned sapphire source and trading hub for centuries, celebrated for producing some of the deepest and most intensely colored blue sapphires available. This stone has been heat treated to maximize its color richness, a standard and universally accepted process in the fine gemstone trade. Its bold, dramatic color makes it ideal for statement jewelry, striking ring designs, and elegant pendant settings where deep blue intensity is the desired effect.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
