This Madagascar blue sapphire presents a deep, moody blue-teal color with a strong green undertone that gives the stone a distinctly cool, atmospheric character typical of heat-treated Madagascar corundum. The oval cut at 7.2x5.2mm offers excellent face coverage for the 1.41ct weight, and the dark, saturated teal-blue body produces a striking, jewel-like appearance that reads as a rich, complex blue across the well-proportioned oval face. Some natural inclusions are present consistent with the SI clarity grade, adding to the stone's natural character.
Madagascar is one of the world's most prolific sapphire-producing countries, and the blue-teal colors from this origin carry a distinctive richness and depth that sets them apart. This stone has been heat treated to enhance and stabilize its deep blue-green color, a standard and permanent process that is universally accepted in the trade. At 1.41ct and 7.2x5.2mm it is an excellent size for a solitaire ring, pendant centerpiece, or bespoke jewelry piece where a substantial, deeply colored natural blue sapphire is the focal point.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
