This elegant 0.78ct untreated green sapphire from Tanzania presents a beautifully elongated pear silhouette with a very light, almost silvery-grey-green body color of VS clarity. The stone is remarkably transparent, its delicate, understated hue rewarding close inspection — light passes through freely, lending the gem a luminous, clean quality that is genuinely striking in its quiet refinement and natural subtlety.
Tanzania is one of the world's premier gemstone sources, and this stone exemplifies the distinctive pale, cool-toned green sapphires that Tanzanian deposits produce. It is completely untreated and unheated, preserving its natural character in full. The elongated pear shape and clean interior make it an ideal candidate for pendant settings, elegant drop earrings, and delicate fine jewelry where understated natural elegance defines the design.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
