This 0.82ct untreated green sapphire pear from Madagascar presents a warm, golden-olive-green color with an earthy, naturalistic character and visible inclusions that give the stone genuine personality and depth. The warm golden-green hue is highly characteristic of untreated Madagascar sapphires, where no heat treatment has been applied to alter the natural color, resulting in an organic gem with a rich, individual palette that varies beautifully across the facets.
Originating from Madagascar, this sapphire is entirely untreated and unheated, preserving the warm natural color it formed with over millions of years. The visible natural inclusions are a testament to its authenticity and are characteristic of genuinely untreated stones. This stone is ideally suited for buyers who value natural character and individual provenance, and would be a beautiful fit for organic, rustic, or artisan-style jewelry settings.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
