This vivid unheated Australian green sapphire presents a lime-chartreuse to yellow-green color in a beautifully proportioned pear cut, with a brightness and saturation that make it immediately eye-catching. The color is lively and fresh, shifting between vivid acid-green and warm yellow-green as the stone moves, producing an energetic and dynamic display of color across the 5.5x4.5mm face. The VS clarity means the stone is largely clean and transparent, with excellent light return through the brightly colored body. A characterful little stone for its size.
Australian green sapphires are celebrated for their bold, vivid tones, and this unheated specimen demonstrates the naturally vibrant yellow-green colors that the continent's gem fields can produce without any enhancement. This stone is fully untreated, with its bright chartreuse color entirely natural. The pear cut adds elegance and directional interest to the vivid color, making it a wonderful choice for a drop pendant, earring pair, or ring setting where a small but brilliantly colored unheated sapphire is the design goal.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
