This 0.34ct heated greenish-blue sapphire presents a deep, rich teal-blue in a small round cut, leaning more decisively toward blue while retaining a cool teal complexity that sets it clearly apart from a conventional blue sapphire. The color is richly saturated and moody for its size, with good depth and a lively facet return that makes the small stone punch well above its carat weight.
Sourced from Africa, this greenish-blue sapphire has been heat treated to deepen its characteristic teal-blue color. The greenish-blue family is increasingly sought in contemporary fine jewelry for its distinctive and versatile modern palette. Despite its small 3.6mm face, this stone makes an excellent accent piece, stud earring stone, or side stone in a multi-stone fine jewelry setting.
Natural greenish-blue sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
