This cushion-cut light blue sapphire presents a very pale, almost ethereal color — an icy sky-blue so delicate it approaches colorless, with just enough blue saturation to lend it a cool, serene luminosity. The cushion silhouette suits the stone's soft, airy character beautifully, and its VS clarity ensures excellent transparency that allows light to move freely through the crystal, creating a bright, clean sparkle. At 6.2x5.2mm, the stone has a generous, well-proportioned face for its weight.
Light blue sapphires like this are prized for their elegance in daytime jewelry — their pale icy tone is versatile and sophisticated, pairing effortlessly with white gold, platinum, and diamonds in engagement rings, pendants, and earrings. Heat treatment has stabilized and refined the natural blue color in a permanent and fully disclosed process. An excellent choice for understated yet meaningful jewelry where timeless clarity takes priority over bold saturation.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
