This 0.60ct light yellow sapphire oval from Sri Lanka presents a beautifully delicate, near-colorless to pale honey-yellow color with VS clarity and excellent transparency, allowing light to flow through the well-cut oval face with effortless brilliance. The color is soft and luminous, with the gentle yellow warmth characteristic of Ceylon sapphires in their most refined and delicate expression — understated yet unmistakably precious.
Originating from Sri Lanka, one of the world's most celebrated sapphire origins, this stone has undergone beryllium diffusion treatment to produce and stabilize its warm yellow color, a disclosed and accepted practice in the colored gemstone trade. A notable feature is its strong orange fluorescence under UV light, which causes the stone to glow a vivid orange under ultraviolet exposure. With VS clarity and a clean oval cut, this stone is an excellent choice for pendants, rings, and fine jewelry settings where a delicate, luminous yellow is the design goal.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
