Natural Malachite Pair 41.4ct 27x12mm Oval Cabochons

Banded malachite with a distinctive three-tone character. The banding runs lengthwise along the long axis in broad, gently arcing parallel layers - but what sets this pair apart is a wide pale cream-to-mint zone cutting across the lower half of each stone. This chalky pale band, with fine green streaks running through it, is prominent and creates an unmistakable tri-colour layout: dark forest green upper band, wide pale chalky zone, dark green lower band. The upper and lower green bands are bold and richly coloured; the pale zone reads almost white in direct light. Both stones share this layout and are matched from the same material. The profile is very low and flat - almost tablet-like - with a high-gloss mirror polish. Fine natural micro-fracture lines are visible in the surface, typical of malachite.

The pale chalky band is the defining visual character of this pair - it gives them a distinctly different look from uniformly green malachite. The elongated narrow oval at 27x12mm is a classic drop earring shape, well suited for long pendant earring settings. The flat profile is practical for bezel settings.
