A natural morganite (pink beryl) from Madagascar, 5.89ct, in a pear cut measuring 11.8x11mm. The stone is pale pastel pink with a soft, slightly warm tone. The pear is notably wide and rounded, the 11.8x11mm proportions give it a near-circular teardrop character rather than an elongated form. At SI clarity, the stone contains visible feathery inclusions and cloud-like material throughout the body; these are present but do not break the face-up transparency at this size.
Nearly 12mm wide and just under 6ct, this is a generous pear for a bold pendant drop or dramatic cocktail ring centerpiece.

About morganite
Morganite is the pink to peach variety of beryl. At 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale with only poor cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted morganite, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Morganite is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This morganite is untreated. Morganite takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
