Deeply saturated and richly colored, this oval zircon displays a striking raspberry-red hue that falls in the coveted spectrum collectors call "imperial pink" - a vivid blend of warm pink and red that blazes with brilliant crimson and rose flashes under direct light. The VS clarity means the stone is very clean, allowing light to travel through the entire depth of color without obstruction. The result is a gem that genuinely commands attention from every angle.
Mined in Tanzania and sold in its natural, untreated state, this imperial pink zircon owes its color entirely to its geological origin. Tanzania is one of the few sources worldwide for pink zircon in this color intensity, and the untreated status adds significant appeal for collectors and jewelry designers who prioritize authenticity. It works beautifully as a center stone in a ring or pendant, and pairs especially well with yellow and rose gold settings.
Natural imperial pink zircon, untreated, Tanzania - sold loose.

About zircon
Zircon is a natural mineral, not the synthetic cubic zirconia. It is 6 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale and brittle, so its facet edges wear or chip easily when zircons rub against each other or against other gems.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted zircon, but skip steam: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
Wear and storage
Never keep zircons loose together in one bag: rubbing wears their facet edges. Store each one on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch, and protect it from knocks.
For your jeweler
This zircon is untreated. Zircon takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
