A richly saturated cognac-orange marquise with deep amber and warm red highlights running through each facet. The color is intense and layered - not a simple orange but a fiery, complex hue that shifts between amber, rust, and warm red-orange depending on the angle and light source. VS clarity keeps the stone very clean and transparent, allowing the full depth of color to shine through with excellent brilliance. The well-proportioned marquise silhouette is clean and crisp, ready for a statement ring or elongated pendant design.
Sourced from Tanzania and completely untreated, this deep orange zircon is a fine example of the richly saturated colors for which Tanzanian zircon is sought after by collectors and jewelry designers alike. The unheated, natural color is a strong selling point for buyers who prioritize gemstone authenticity. The marquise shape lends itself beautifully to east-west ring settings, pointed pendant designs, and custom pieces where the elongated form becomes part of the visual concept.
Natural orange zircon, marquise cut, untreated, Tanzania - sold loose.

About zircon
Zircon is a natural mineral, not the synthetic cubic zirconia. It is 6 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale and brittle, so its facet edges wear or chip easily when zircons rub against each other or against other gems.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted zircon, but skip steam: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
Wear and storage
Never keep zircons loose together in one bag: rubbing wears their facet edges. Store each one on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch, and protect it from knocks.
For your jeweler
This zircon is untreated. Zircon takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
