This 1.17ct untreated orange sapphire oval from Mozambique presents a vibrant, warm pinkish-orange color with a rich, saturated hue in the glowing orange-pink range. Visible natural needle inclusions add organic authenticity to the interior, while the deeply saturated color is a powerful testament to the stone's completely natural, unenhanced origin.
Mozambique has become a significant sapphire source in recent years, producing stones with strong, warm color. This sapphire is completely untreated and unheated, making its vivid pinkish-orange color a pure expression of the stone's own geological formation — a genuine rarity in the orange sapphire category. An outstanding collector's stone and a compelling centerpiece for bespoke fine jewelry, particularly in rose gold settings that amplify its warm, radiant palette.
Natural untreated orange sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
