This matched pair of untreated white sapphires from Myanmar presents two beautifully elegant marquise-cut stones in near-colorless white, with VS clarity and excellent transparency. The elongated navette shape and bright, clean appearance of both stones give the pair a refined, sophisticated presence, and the close color and cut matching makes them ideal for symmetrical, perfectly coordinated jewelry applications.
Myanmar has been a source of gem corundum for centuries. These white sapphires are completely untreated and unheated, a rare find in perfectly matched marquise form. White sapphires are a timeless and elegant choice as diamond alternatives in earrings, ring shoulder stones, and bracelets, offering the outstanding hardness of corundum (9 on the Mohs scale) alongside beautiful natural brilliance and lasting durability.
Natural untreated white sapphires, September birthstone - sold as a matched pair.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
These stones are untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
