This 0.69ct untreated purple sapphire round from Madagascar presents a nearly colorless body with a very faint, delicate lavender-pink blush that gives the stone an ethereal, ghostly quality unlike typical deeply saturated sapphires. Prominent needle inclusions and natural feathering run throughout the transparent interior, lending the stone an authentically wild and unfiltered character that speaks directly to its natural formation deep within the earth.
From Madagascar, this purple sapphire is completely untreated and unheated, carrying only the color and character that nature provided. The very pale lavender-hinted tone is a distinctive and unusual characteristic that appeals to collectors who appreciate natural stones beyond simple color saturation. At 5mm round, this stone suits organic and artisan jewelry settings where the naturally expressive, inclusion-rich interior becomes a celebrated part of the design.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
