This unheated Madagascar purple sapphire presents a delicate, very pale lavender-violet color with a soft, ghostly quality that gives it a refined, understated elegance. The cushion cut face shows a near-transparent body with a whisper of cool violet-lavender color, subtly shifting between pale gray and soft purple as the light changes. Some natural inclusions are present within the body, including a small cluster of pinpoints visible under magnification, consistent with the SI clarity grade for a natural unheated stone of this type. The overall impression is of a clean, light, airy stone with a gently lavender soul.
Pale unheated purple sapphires from Madagascar occupy a quietly distinctive niche in the colored gemstone market, prized by collectors and jewelry designers who appreciate their cool, delicate palette and genuine natural status. This stone is fully unheated and untreated, making its soft natural color entirely authentic. At 5.8x4.8mm and 0.82ct the cushion cut is well-proportioned for rings, pendants, and earring designs where a delicately colored, all-natural unheated sapphire with a gentle lavender tone is sought.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
