A lemon-yellow grossular garnet cabochon with a bright, translucent lime-yellow body and a smooth polished dome. Needle-like and fibrous inclusions are visible through the stone's semi-transparent body, giving it a natural, organic character. The color is a warm, vibrant yellow-green with a glassy surface sheen.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath.
