A well-proportioned 1.35ct oval yellow sapphire in a natural, untreated state, preserving the original color and character of the stone exactly as it formed. The 6.8x5.4mm oval format gives the stone an attractive visual footprint with good face-up presence, and the yellow corundum body is expected to show the warm, sunlit character typical of natural untreated yellow sapphires. SI clarity is consistent with natural inclusions present in the stone, adding to its organic, unenhanced quality.
Completely untreated, with no heat or other enhancement applied. Untreated yellow sapphires are increasingly rare in the market, as the vast majority of commercial examples are heated to improve color and clarity. This stone's natural, unmodified state gives it added value for buyers and collectors who prioritize untreated stones. Yellow sapphire is associated with Jupiter in Vedic astrology and is recognized as the traditional September birthstone, making a 1.35ct oval a well-proportioned center stone for a meaningful pendant, ring, or earring design.
Natural untreated yellow sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
