A clean, bright oval sapphire presenting a near-colorless body with a very subtle cool blue-white tone, giving it a crisp, icy quality that reads as white to the naked eye. The facets return light beautifully, with a lively, glassy brightness consistent with good transparency and a well-executed oval cut. The faintest cool tint adds a little character to what is otherwise a very clean, neutral-toned stone. SI clarity is present but reads as clean at normal viewing distances, making the stone visually appealing and bright throughout.
Fully untreated and sourced from Madagascar, this near-colorless sapphire is a fine example of natural, unenhanced corundum. Untreated sapphires carry a premium in the market due to their rarity, and the absence of any heat or chemical treatment makes this stone appropriate for buyers who prioritize natural integrity in their gemstones. Its versatile, neutral tone works in virtually any jewelry context, from a simple solitaire setting to a multi-stone piece where a bright, clean accent stone is needed alongside other colored gems.
Natural untreated yellow sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
