A bright, near-colorless oval sapphire with a clean, glassy appearance and excellent transparency throughout. The body presents as essentially white to the eye, with the faintest suggestion of pale warmth that keeps it in the yellow sapphire classification while delivering the clean, diamond-like brightness of a fine colorless corundum. Fine needle inclusions are present at SI clarity but do not significantly impact the light return or the clean, neutral face of the stone.
Completely untreated, sourced from Madagascar, where fine colorless and near-colorless sapphires occur naturally alongside more saturated yellow examples. Untreated status is increasingly valued in the fine jewelry market and adds long-term collectible appeal to the stone. Its near-colorless appearance makes it a versatile setting stone, functioning effectively as a diamond alternative in white metal settings, a bright accent alongside colored center stones, or a standalone pendant piece where clean, brilliant transparency is the primary design value. Sapphire's 9 Mohs hardness guarantees lasting durability.
Natural untreated yellow sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is untreated. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
