Five natural blue apatite pear cuts in a vivid aqua-teal blue, each measuring approximately 4x3mm in a clean teardrop outline. The color is the signature neon blue-green of African apatite, consistent and bright across the set, with a good transparency and the fine silky needle inclusions that are characteristic of this gem variety. The elegant pear shape brings a touch of refinement to the small size, and the five stones together offer flexibility for a range of design applications.
From Africa and completely untreated, these natural pear-cut blue apatites need no enhancement to achieve their vivid color. They suit drop earrings, color-cluster pendants, or any design where the distinctive teardrop silhouette can be shown to best effect. Five stones give you options: a pair of drops, a pendant plus earrings, or a row of five in a pave or channel setting. Sold as a set of five.
Natural blue apatite, set of 5 pear cuts, sold loose.

About apatite
Apatite is a calcium phosphate. At 5 on the Mohs scale it is soft for a gemstone and sensitive to acids, heat and knocks, so it is best for pendants, earrings or a collection.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it. Keep it away from acids, including lemon juice and vinegar, and household cleaners.
Wear and storage
With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, and a knock can chip it. Wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.
For your jeweler
These stones are untreated. Apatite should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. A bezel or another protective setting suits it best.
