This 0.51ct heated blueish-green sapphire oval presents a clean, medium steel-teal color with good transparency and lively brilliance across its well-proportioned oval face. The color sits in a balanced blue-green space, shifting subtly between teal-blue and green depending on the light angle, giving the stone an appealing, dynamic character that is versatile across a range of settings and metal tones.
Sourced from Madagascar, this teal sapphire has been heat treated to optimize its color saturation, producing the vivid blue-green tone that Madagascar's teal sapphire output is known for. Blueish-green sapphires are increasingly popular in contemporary fine jewelry, prized for their distinctive palette that bridges blue and green sapphires in a way no other gem quite replicates. This stone is well suited for rings, pendants, and earrings in gold or silver settings.
Natural blueish-green sapphire, September birthstone - sold loose.

About sapphire
Sapphire is corundum in every color except red. At 9 on the Mohs scale it is second only to diamond, and it is also very tough with no cleavage, so it rarely chips or splits when knocked. Together that makes it one of the most durable gemstones for everyday wear, rings included.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually fine for a faceted sapphire, but skip them if the stone has fissures that reach the surface.
Wear and storage
Sapphire is very hard, so it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Only diamond can scratch it, so keep it apart from diamonds and store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
This sapphire is heated, and the color from heating is stable. Sapphire handles normal setting, re-tipping and polishing well. If the stone has fissures that reach the surface, keep it out of direct torch flame and acid pickle.
