A round brilliant-cut chrome diopside from Pakistan with a deep forest green body color. The interior is visible through the facets and shows natural inclusions typical of SI clarity material, giving the stone a characteristically natural look under close inspection. The round cut makes good use of the color depth, and the facets return vivid green flashes in direct light.
Chrome diopside's saturated green color is entirely natural, driven by chromium content, with no treatment of any kind applied. Pakistani material in the sub-carat range often shows inclusions visible to the naked eye, which is normal and expected for SI clarity. This round shape suits pendant and earring settings.

About diopside
Diopside is 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale with good cleavage along two planes, so it needs protection from knocks and scratches.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, and a knock can split it. Wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.

This diopside is untreated. Diopside should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
