A round brilliant-cut chrome diopside from Pakistan with a medium-to-deep forest green color. The round cut delivers good facet symmetry and a lively spread of green in direct light. Natural inclusions are visible in the stone's interior consistent with SI clarity, contributing a characteristically natural look under close inspection. Pakistan produces chrome diopside with a characteristically deep, saturated green color, and the round brilliant cut makes good use of this color depth, distributing the incoming light through the facets. The chromium responsible for the green color is a natural trace element, not the result of treatment. The visible inclusions in SI-clarity material are normal and expected, and this round shape is well suited for mounting in a pendant or earrings.

About diopside
Diopside is 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale with good cleavage along two planes, so it needs protection from knocks and scratches.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
With a hardness below 7 it can be scratched even by quartz, which is found in household dust, and a knock can split it. Wipe it gently and store it on its own in a soft pouch. It suits pendants and earrings better than an everyday ring.

This diopside is untreated. Diopside should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
