Lot 10pcs Natural Labradorite Round Cabs 6mm 11.48ct

Ten small round cabochons in the 5.8 to 6mm range, laid out in two rows of five and showing the full spread of color that a single parcel of labradorite can hold. The top row runs from a clear olive-grey piece through a very dark, almost black stone, then two in warm tan and toffee, and one with a broad gold band across its dome. The bottom row is cooler: mint and blue-green sheen on the first two, a bronze piece with a bright blue crescent, one with a strong blue-green eye at its center, and a deep smoky brown to finish. All ten are calibrated to the same round outline with even domes and a bright polish.

Each cabochon flashes at its own angle because the internal layering of every piece was oriented differently in the rough, which is why a parcel of matched-size stones can look so varied. Indian labradorite is the usual source for calibrated small rounds like these. Untreated, with the flash produced by structure rather than any enhancement. At 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale they suit stud earrings, cluster work, small bezel settings, or simply keeping as a reference set. The ten pieces total 11.48ct.
