Five round cabochons between 5.8 and 6mm, warmer overall than most labradorite and unusually translucent for the material. Two show broad gold and amber bands crossing the dome with a cool blue edge alongside; one is a rich caramel brown carrying a dark mineral inclusion at its rim; another is pale grey-green with a bright blue-green sheen at the center; the last is the palest of the set, near-colorless honey with a scatter of fine rainbow points. Natural dark specks are visible in several of the stones, and all five take a clean, glassy polish.
Labradorite this pale and translucent is closer in appearance to its cousin sunstone than to the dark grey material most people picture, yet the flash works the same way, arising from light interference within the feldspar's internal layering. Indian rough supplies these calibrated small rounds. Untreated. Hardness is 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale, making them practical for earrings, accent settings, or beadwork. The five pieces total 4.41ct.

About labradorite
Labradorite is a feldspar whose flashes of color (labradorescence) come from light interfering in microscopic layers inside the stone, so they appear only at certain angles. Like all feldspars it is 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale with two perfect cleavage directions, so it needs protection from knocks.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners: vibration and heat can split it along its cleavage.
Wear and storage
Take it off for sport, gardening or heavy work, where a knock is most likely to split it along its cleavage. Below 7 on the Mohs scale it can be scratched even by quartz in household dust, so store it on its own in a soft pouch.
For your jeweler
These stones are untreated. Labradorite should be kept away from the torch flame, acid pickle and the ultrasonic bath. Ask for gentle pressure when setting, since a hard push can split it.
