Both of this color change garnet's states are pink, but they are very different pinks: a cool vivid magenta in daylight, and a warm coral orange-pink under incandescent light. The photograph stacks them one above the other, and the difference reads more as a change of temperature than of color. At 5.7x4.5mm the oval has real presence for a sub-carat stone. Dark specks are scattered through the interior and visible in both frames, in keeping with the SI grade.
Tanzanian material sits at the pink end of the color change garnet range, without the green daylight state that the Kenyan and Malagasy stones show. It is untreated. That makes this the gentlest change in the collection and the easiest to wear day to day, since neither state looks unusual on its own. As a garnet it falls to January, though the coral state would suit a summer wardrobe better than the month suggests.

About garnet
Garnet is a family of closely related minerals, including rhodolite, spessartine, grossular and tsavorite. At 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale with no cleavage, it is a good stone for everyday wear.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild dish soap and a soft toothbrush are all you need. Brush behind the stone too, where dust and skin oils collect, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. An ultrasonic cleaner is usually fine for a clean faceted garnet, but skip steam: sudden temperature changes can crack it.
Wear and storage
Garnet is hard enough for everyday wear, and it can scratch softer gemstones stored with it. Harder stones such as topaz, sapphire, ruby and diamond can scratch it, so store it on its own in a gem jar or a soft pouch.

This garnet is untreated. Garnet takes normal setting well, but keep it out of direct torch flame: sudden heat can crack it or change its color.
